How To Cover Up Acne with Mineral Makeup

Most everyone has experienced having acne.  Generally, acne and the blemishes that come with them will disappear from the skin within a few days without scarring.  Unfortunately, for those of us with sensitive skin, acne can leave unsightly redness, scarring or bumps.  Thankfully there are ways to cover up acne scars with a little bit of makeup and know how.

Mineral makeup is highly recommended for covering up acne scars.  Pick a product that's 100% pure and free from fillers.

Begin by thoroughly cleaning your face with a mild cleanser.  Thoroughly hydrate and moisturize your face (TIP:  Use our Homeade Face Astringent Honey and egg treatment to tighten your pores).

Next, you'll want to use a mattifying gel.  We recommend using the OC Eight Professional Mattifying Gel.  Professional makeup artists, and even American Idol uses this mattifying gel.

Start with a mineral concealer.  They usually have a yellowish tint to them, which actually helps with eliminating the redness.  Use crisscross strokes to avoid creating stroke marks on your face.  If you choose, liquid foundations will work fine for this too.  This type of concealer works great in those little acne scars, because it lightens them from the inside, which makes them look more flush with your skin.

Your next step, is to take a light color foundation, and brush with downward strokes.  This is followed by taking a medium concealer and continuing the process.  Slight imperfections in the skin are blended away, and unsightly redness from acne disappears.
